How to apply casting tape? Instruction for use casting tape?

-Preparation: Doctor should always wear gloves, as the polyurethane resin in the tape is sticky and hard to remove from skin.

-Prepare the Limb: Apply a tubular stockinette, followed by cast padding. It is used to protect the skin and provide comfort.

-Activate the Tape: Immerse the roll of casting tape in room-temperature ( 18-24C or 65-75F) water for 5-10 seconds.

-Squeeze out the water: Gently squeeze the roll 2-3 times while submerged,  and make sure it is thoroughly wetted.

-Apply the Tape: Wrap the Casting Tape around the limb, overlapping each layer by 1/2 to 2/3(50%-60%).

-Mold the cast: Use flat palms to rub the Casting Tape, allowing the layers to adhere together and molding it to the limb's shape.

-Setting: The material will begin to set in approximately 3-5 minutes, becoming rigid.

-Finishing: Ensure the ends are smoothed down to avoid sharp edges. 

Precautions:

-Do not apply cast tape directly to the skin; always use padding.

- Cold water slows the process, while hotter water will cause the Casting Tape to set faster

-Open only one roll at a time to prevent premature hardening.

- Avoid applying excessive force when wrapping to prevent dents.
