Kangda Upgraded Polymer Plaster Splint


Polymer plaster splints, also known as polymer splints, are multi-layered orthopedic external fixation materials made with glass fiber or polyester fiber as the base material and impregnated with polyurethane resin. They are an upgrade from traditional Plaster Bandages. They feature hardening in 3-5 minutes, load-bearing capacity in 15 minutes, and complete curing in 20 minutes. They also offer advantages such as waterproofing, moisture resistance (blocking 85% of water ingress), excellent breathability, and good X-ray transmittance. Suitable for limb fracture fixation, joint sprain fixation, burn protection braces, and prosthetic assistive devices. During use, they need to be frequently soaked in warm water to shape and then secured with bandages.
Since the 1990s, orthopedic external fixation materials have begun to use resin composite technology to replace traditional plaster. The international market pioneered the promotion of this lightweight, high-strength material, and China has gradually adopted it, driving industry upgrades. Currently, polymer splints have two main types: glass fiber and polyester fiber. Polyester fiber base material has become the dominant product in the market due to its high elasticity and good breathability. With technological advancements, digital manufacturing processes such as 3D printing are further expanding their clinical applications.

Usage:
- Select the appropriate splint size for the area to be fixed.
- Open the packaging (open one bag at a time to avoid ineffectiveness). Remove the splint and immerse it in room temperature water for 3-4 seconds, squeezing 2-3 times.
- Remove and squeeze out excess water, then wipe the surface of the splint clean.
- Place on the area requiring fixation, shape, and secure with a gauze bandage or elastic bandage in a spiral motion, ensuring moderate tightness.

- Store in a dry, room-temperature environment. The packaging must be airtight to prevent hardening and loss of effectiveness.
